Capture your summer vacation memories. The beach and the boardwalk are a great place for getting good photos and those photos will be a great memory to take back from your beach vacation.  Get the whole family involved in making these items―have everyone take photos of your favorite places during your vacation. Once you get back home, let each family member decide which souvenirs to use. When you display them around your home, you’ll have a beautiful reminder of your vacation.

Build a Sand Castle

If you've ever been relaxing on the beach, admiring everyone else's sand castles, and wishing you knew how to build one - well, have we got a treat for you. Building a sand castle really isn't as difficult as it looks, and only requires a few key tools. So, grab your pail and shovel, and get digging. Choose an ideal area for building. Any sandcastle that is worth building well will take at least half a morning or afternoon, so avoid any areas of the beach where there are tides coming in.

Sunset cruises on Virginia Beach last approximately an hour and a half and depart nightly at 7:00 pm beginning Memorial Day thru Labor Day. North American Sand Soccer Tournament

Virginia Beach hosts this sand soccer championship as 10,000 players will rock the Virginia Beach oceanfront. The NASSC is the world's largest amateur beach soccer festival held at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront across 20 surfside blocks. The NASSC, hosted by the Hampton Roads Soccer Council (HRSC), is a 501(c)(3) charity event conducted for the development of the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex located in Virginia Beach, VA.

Virginia Beach Sandcastle Competition

It's been the signature event of the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival since its inception. Now it becomes the signature event of an entire region as the North American Sandsculpting Championship expands to ten days. With an international field of sculptors representing countries from around the world, the expansion of the competition puts this as one of the most distinctive events of its kind in the United States. A huge tent, almost as large as a football field, will house 22 sculptures created by 12 solo and 10 doubles teams!

Neptune 8K and 5K Run

Run, jog, walk, or skip your way down Atlantic Avenue to Rudee Inlet as spectators and family cheer you on the whole way. Afterwards, bask in your achievement in the 24th Street Park while enjoying plenty of food, drinks, fantastic views of the ocean, and even a door prize or two! There is plenty of fun to be had for racers and their guests, but pre-registration is required to participate. Spectators and viewing are free and welcome along the route.
