The Norwegian Lady Statue is a memorial to the shipwreck of the Norwegian barque Dictator in 1891 off the coast of Virginia Beach. The statue is a replica of the original figurehead that was found on the beach by a young boy and displayed on the boardwalk for over 60 years until it was damaged by a hurricane.
