Walking up to King Neptune for the first time can be shocking. King Neptune is much larger in person. The bronze sculpture stands 34 feet tall. His head alone is 6″ tall, with shoulders that are 12 feet across and he weighs a whopping 12 tons. That’s 26,000 lbs!

Designed by sculptor Paul DiPasquale from Virginia, the statue was dedicated on September 30, 2005, during the Neptune Festival Weekend. The base of King Neptune is base is surrounded by various sea creatures, including dolphins, a loggerhead turtle, and even an octopus. The iconic statue is a must see and a perfect photo spot for anyone who for anyone who visits Virginia Beach. It can easily be one of the best photos you take at the beach!
